Kids running major programs?
Some people may raise their eyebrows when they receive an email from a 10 year old telling them the logistics of the program the signed up for, but I am so excited to have launched the world's first gifted program for gifted kids, by gifted kids.
I'm modeling this in part off of MIT's Educational Studies Program, which I was an admin in for 2 years. While with MIT's Educational Studies Program, I designed and directed their first ever virtual program (for over 2,000 students!!), which may have been the largest synchronous virtual education program ever (and may still be). While I had notable experience with virtual education, I didn't have experience designing or running programs like this. After directing Summer HSSP 2020, I was Mentorship Subdirector for another program, Minors Policy Subdirector for another, Data Czar for the organization, directed Cascade 2021, created the first Cascade Beyond program 2022, and more. Indeed one of the values of MIT ESP encompasses putting people into roles not because they have demonstrated experience with similar roles, but because you feel they could grow into the role, and gain valuable experience along the way.
The world isn't built for gifted kids. Gifted kids are capable of so much (polymath is my favorite word) and they have wide ranging interests they want to pursue. Unfortunately, society rewards committing to one path, and often won't reward someone who 'only' has talents and ability, hiring only those with years of relevant experience, even if their ability is less. So I wanted to give them something they can achieve and put on their resumes/college applications that demonstrates their abilities.
I recognize that gifted kids are incredibly capable, even if their resume doesn't say they are. One gifted student has been interning with me in 2023, and she has shown me the incredible work she can do when trusted with the responsibility and given proper support to do it. After 2023, she was the clear choice to direct edRev’s 2024 summer programs.
For these reasons and more, I am thrilled to be mentoring this group of gifted kids while *they* design gifted programs. Self-defined as the Coalition of edRevians (COE for short), they've already surpassed what I thought they were capable of, and I thought they were capable of a lot! I am so proud of and impressed by the work they’ve done, and I’m thrilled to see what they do with the skills they build along the way. When you join the program, I know you'll be impressed.

Meet the Coalition of EdRevians
The incredible group of gifted kids designing their own programs.
Rosalie
Rosalie is a high school student who’s been with edRev since the very beginning! Rosalie’s interests include math, math competitions, astronomy, cooking/baking, playing soccer, refereeing soccer, playing the viola, playing percussion, singing, and board games. Rosalie always wants to learn more, and loves to talk about anything that interests her.
Laurel
Laurel is a 10 year old who enjoys math, creative writing, and computer programming in Java. She lives in the Pacific Northwest. In her free time, she plays Minecraft Java Edition as well as skiing, biking, and paddling an SUP. Her favorite YouTuber is probably Clownpierce.
Connor
Connor is a middle school student who joined edRev's team in February of 2026. He has been with this program before, and is most interested in coding, math, science, physics, and robotics. He plays the trumpet and is on a soccer team, with his favorite hobbies being playing games with friends, watching videos, and reading.
Myles
Myles is a middle school student who is very passionate about mathematics, astrophysics, and quantum mechanics. He is very fond of learning new things, and a few past topics he has ventured to are Public Transportation, Economics, Architecture, Urban Planning, and Chemistry. Having said that, he has a lot of weird pockets of knowledge in almost everything.
Vihaan
Vihaan is a nerd, (and by that he means D&D fanatic, factoid collector, speed cuber, memorizer of π (because he likes it more than tau), memorizer of φ (because he likes it more than pi), and enjoyer of comprehensive guidebooks to dragons and other “nonexistent” creatures).
His favorite food is vegan sushi and he loves drinking boba tea while listening to low-fi and pondering.
When not playing D&D, reading, or animating, he can be found existing in a superposition of all three in a parallel universe.
He claims that: by common opinion, his dog Mochi is the cutest being in all of existence and Vihaan challenges you to test this claim!
Freyja
Freyja is a fourth grader in Portland, Oregon. She enjoys writing, gymnastics, piano, video games, and cartoons from when your parents were kids. She lives with her parents, two cats, and two dogs.
Litheja
Litheja is a high school student passionate about science, healthcare, the environment, and community advocacy. She is actively involved in several school and civic initiatives, where she enjoys collaborating with others and helping bring new ideas to life. Litheja hopes to pursue a career in medicine in the future. In her free time, she enjoys hanging out with her friends and family, biking, reading, and playing tennis.
Sam
Sam is a college student that's been with edRev since the beginning. Sam made the choice to do his bar mitzvah and learn jewish scripture. He's studying computer science and is going to major in biology, and he's also planning on studying for his driver's license. Sam likes the environment and despises anti-consumer practices. He refuses to return to one of America's best botanical gardens because they removed their fruit house (that he liked).
